The Coastal Tango Retreat – Bournemouth, UK
A beautifully curated weekend of Argentine Tango, inspiring workshops, guided práctica, vibrant ballroom milongas and coastal relaxation by the sea.
Join Letitia Simone & Andrés Sosa for the quality, warmth and thoughtful hosting that define Tango en el Alma retreats — now with a larger community of dancers to create the energy, variety and atmosphere for beautiful milongas in our private ballroom.
Room types and single occupancy are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis.
A Coastal Escape with the Soul of a Tango en el Alma Retreat
The Coastal Tango Retreat is our UK weekend experience: more accessible than our overseas retreats, more personal and thoughtfully curated than a typical dance weekend.
It has been designed with the same care, quality teaching, thoughtful hospitality and warm hosting that have shaped our international Tango en el Alma retreats — while welcoming more dancers so our ballroom milongas can feel fuller, more varied and more alive.
Across the weekend you will learn, practise, dance, share meals, relax by the coast, enjoy the hotel’s leisure facilities and spend cosy evenings getting to know other dancers in the cocktail bar and lounge by the fireplace.
A weekend created with the same care, warmth and quality that define every Tango en el Alma experience.

The Weekend Experience
This is not a marathon, not a festival, and not a standard dance holiday. It is a carefully curated coastal Tango weekend where every part of the experience has been chosen with intention — with a larger group than our more intimate retreats so there are more dancers, more connections and a richer social floor for the ballroom milongas.
Inspiring Tango
Four thoughtful workshops with Letitia Simone & Andrés Sosa, focused on practical, social Tango you can take straight onto the dance floor.
Wonderful Social Dancing
Two evening milongas with carefully selected music, a spacious ballroom and a warm atmosphere where social dancing is at the heart of the weekend.
Guided Práctica
A relaxed afternoon practice where Letitia and Andrés are on the floor with you, available for questions, guidance and individual support.
Coastal Relaxation
Enjoy Bournemouth’s seafront, fresh sea air, hotel leisure facilities and time to slow down between classes and milongas.
Cosy Social Moments
Share conversations over dinner, unwind in the cocktail bar, and continue the evening in the lounge by the fireplace after the music ends.
A Welcoming Community
Come alone, with a partner or with friends. We take care to create a friendly environment where dancers feel included from the start.
A Coastal 4★ Hotel Setting for Tango, Rest and Connection
Set in a prime East Cliff location overlooking Bournemouth’s famous Blue Flag beaches, Queens Hotel & Spa offers a beautiful 4★ base for a restorative Tango weekend by the sea.
The hotel brings together modern accommodation, on-site dining, leisure facilities, a cocktail bar, lounge areas and a private ballroom for our workshops, práctica and milongas.
Between sessions, you can relax in the spa and wellness facilities, take a coastal walk, share a drink in the lounge or simply enjoy a slower rhythm before another evening of Tango.
The hotel’s leisure facilities include a spa, indoor swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi and gym. Situated close to the beach, it is ideal for refreshing seaside walks and beautiful coastal views. At this time of year, guests can also visit Bournemouth’s famous Christmas market in the city centre, just a short walk from the hotel, during their free time. It is the perfect autumn and winter escape: Tango, relaxation, festive atmosphere and the sea all in one weekend.
The setting supports the full experience: learning, dancing, shared meals, conversation and relaxation.

Practical, Beautiful Tango for the Social Dance Floor
The teaching throughout the weekend is designed for dancers who want to improve their Tango in a way that feels useful, inspiring and immediately connected to social dancing.
Rather than filling the weekend with endless material, Letitia and Andrés will focus on quality: embrace, connection, musicality, comfort, movement, communication and confidence on the dance floor.
The guided práctica gives you the chance to explore, ask questions and receive personal support while the ideas are still fresh in the body.
Dance, Practise, Socialise and Enjoy the Music
Social dancing is a central part of The Coastal Tango Retreat. The weekend includes two evening milongas, plus guided práctica and farewell dancing on Sunday.
We are intentionally welcoming a larger group than on our more intimate retreats so the ballroom has the energy, variety and partner choice needed for beautiful social dancing — while keeping the warm hosting, thoughtful details, role balance and sense of connection our retreats are known for.
Whether you come mainly to learn, mainly to dance, or simply to enjoy a weekend surrounded by Tango, there will be plenty of time on the dance floor.
Come for the retreat experience — stay for the dancing
If beautiful milongas matter to you as much as good teaching, this weekend has been designed with both in mind.
A Weekend Where You Can Feel Part of the Group
Many dancers told us they would consider coming alone, and that matters to us. A key part of the Tango en el Alma experience is helping people feel welcomed, included and comfortable from the beginning.
The shared dinners, guided práctica, cosy lounge moments, milongas and time between sessions are all part of the retreat. This is where friendships form, conversations happen and the weekend becomes more than a schedule of classes.
You are welcome as a solo dancer, a couple or a group of friends. We will pay attention to group dynamics and role balance to support a good learning and dancing experience for everyone.
